Mr. Newcome has been an educator for nearly 20 years. An English teacher at John Handley High School since 2014, he teaches English at the Emil and Grace Shihadeh Innovation Center, and he served as the Chair of the English Department at JHHS from 2016-2022. Mr. Newcome graduated from West Virginia University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Technology, and in 2004, he earned his Masters of Arts in Education from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Chip is dedicated to community services and has served on many committees at both Braddock Street United Methodist Church and John Handley High School. He currently resides in Ward 1 with his wife Teressa, daughter Corrine, son Josh, and their two dogs, Harley and Winnie.
